Greenhouse Effect

-------------------------

Today we talk a lot about the Greenhouse effect; the theme is widely discussed in various media. But to talk about this natural process we will need to answer what is actually warming. The Greenhouse Effect is the form that the earth has to keep its temperature constant and it’s thanks to this phenomenon that there is life on Earth. But this phenomenon has some drawbacks. The gradual increase of gases emission in the atmosphere by the population and also by the technological advances could lead to serious consequences if this situation continues.
-------------------------

Many ecosystems can be hit, plants and animals species may be extinct. Problems such as melting glaciers and the flooding of islands and coastal regions, typhoons, hurricanes, tsunamis and floods may impact negatively on agricultural production in several countries, reducing the amount of food on our planet. The rising of the temperature in the seas could cause the diversion of ocean currents, causing the extinction of many marine animals and decrease the amount of fish in the seas.

-------------------------

Solutions and forms to reduce the environmental impact caused by the Greenhouse Effect must be taken immediately. Concerned with this situation, international organizations such as Greenpeace, are already taking measures and the main one is to promote awareness of the population. The major step taken by several countries of the worldwas to join the Kyoto Protocol, signed in 1997 which provides the reduction of greenhouse gases in the coming years. However, countries like the United States are making the progress of these agreements more difficult. So it is everyone’s responsibility to be aware of this common problem and taking care our planet.
